PHOTO SHOOT - Victorian Garden Romance
Updated: Jan 20, 2019
I recently reconnected with Gema Ortiz, a friend from high school, who is a wedding and lifestyle photographer now. We met up for tea and a chat, trying to see how we could work together in the near future, and realized our goals were very similar...grow our portfolio with a styled shoot and try to get published. It’s any wedding professional’s dream to land a wedding blog like Style Me Pretty and grow their business, so we started our journey with that target in mind. Our first challenge was finding a venue that worked with our springtime, traditional, romantic and timeless theme...until we located The Victorian in Santa Monica. The venue has beautiful rooms for various interior shots and serves as the perfect backdrop for exterior shots.
We worked together to build a dream team of vendors who would come together to create a styled shoot more amazing than expected. We were lucky enough to have Lili Bridals contribute two wedding gowns, Dots Cupcakes provided a cake and cupcakes, The Look By Julie provided hair and makeup glam, Z Create Design provided signage and Soiree 8 provided tableware rentals. It was the most collaborative effort, with everyone contributing their talents and time to create something very special.
We were lucky enough to get published on two wedding and event blogs, A Princess Inspired and Glittery Bride. I am also attaching my personal favorite photos from the shoot, but everything was so stunning, it was hard to pick just 10.
